WEEK THREE: Theatre

•  Given the changing nature of audiences, entertainment, and media, the role of theatre in twenty-first century culture is changing. It is series which brings new and innovative work in literary, cultural, and dramatic criticism into conversation with established theatre texts and trends, in order to offer fresh interpretation, as well as highlight new or ignored artists, works, and trends.  live performers to present the experience of a real or imagined event before a live audience in a specific place. The performers may communicate this experience to the audience through combinations of gesture, speech, song, music or dance. Elements of design and stagecraft are used to enhance the physicality, presence and immediacy of the experience.
